Burnley midfielder Danny Drinkwater will probably be out for two weeks following maintaining ankle ligament damage.
The 29-year-old, who is on loan from Chelsea, has been allegedly attacked hours following the Clarets’ 3-0 defeat by Liverpool on Saturday.
Drinkwater is now not able to train according to Burnley boss Sean Dyche.
“They’re human beings and people do get scrapes,” Dyche said.
“He is old enough and smart enough to know you do whatever you can to make an effort to not get into scrapes but occasionally it happens.
“He is part of us. Allow him to get realigned into where he wants to become and where he had been and we must work together with him. We have spoke to him and the remainder will remain private.”
The Leicester midfielder was restricted to a single appearance this year and has been envisioned with injuries following the episode.
“We have had a chat with him and said: What happened in the beginning? What was the situation that contributed to it? OK, let us go away from that, today in which to do we go from here? That’s where we are at,” Dyche additional.
